About

Marcus Chow, MDiv, RP, CCFT, RMFT

My passion is to walk along side with people during their journey towards healing and growth. I value each client as a unique individual, who deserves to be treated with compassion and respect. I believe that developing emotional maturity and gaining self-understanding are essential steps towards personal growth.

I work with clients in the areas of: depression & anxiety, grief & loss, trauma & abuse, anger management, self-esteem issues, boundaries, communication skills, life transitions, premarital counselling, relationship & family issues, parenting issues.

My counselling approach is informed by Family Systems Theory and different models of psychotherapy (such as Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and EMDR). In addition,  I can also incorporate spirituality informed by Biblical faith at my client's comfort level during the sessions.

I hold a Master of Divinity degree in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University College and Seminary. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (#002709) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (#2017323) with the Canadian Association for Couple and Family Therapy (CACFT). I am also a Certified Couple and Family Therapist (#130256) with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (OAMFT).
